A Letter on Leadership in Dentistry

Dear Dental Professionals,

I would like to express my gratitude for all your hard work and dedication throughout this past year. It has been a difficult year for everyone, and I admire the strength and resilience that you have shown in continuing to provide care for your patients. Thank you for your dedication to your profession and your commitment to providing quality care.

During a time of uncertainty, it has been inspiring to see dental leaders take care of patients. By creating new boundaries and structures, the dental industry has been able to adapt and keep everyone safe.

I am proud to be part of the dental field and even more proud to be part of AADOM and the Triangle Area Chapter. This text opens a new tab to the chapter’s website. AADOM has proved to be a beacon of light in a moment of uncertainty. What this whole past year has proved is that leaders will always appear during times of difficulty. When many became nervous, AADOM members led by example.

When I came into this profession, I never imagined that 21 years later, I would have accomplished as much as I have. I started out as an assistant, but I was always driven to learn more and grow within the company. Even if it meant doing things other people wouldn’t want to do, I was always willing to put in the extra effort to learn. And that’s what has led me to the success I have today.

That is what leaders do; they take whatever actions are necessary to help balance out the team. Leaders are often the first to try something or create a new structure. Patients need us to do what we are trained to do and to conquer the difficulties set in front of us.

The camaraderie from fellow dental office managers is one that only attendees at an AADOM conference could understand.

I was anxious as we awaited updates from Dr. Megha. I realized that I truly wanted to lead and find a way to help our team through this journey. I did this simply because I love dentistry.

I would like to express my gratitude to each and every one of you. Your hard work and dedication are what makes this profession great. Thank you for your continued support.
